The Central Executive Committee of Democratic Youth Federation of India strongly condemns the signing of the Logistic Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) between India and US. Under this agreement the US airforce and navy can use Indian naval and air bases for logistics support. Logistic services would include supplies of food, water, accommodation, transportation, petroleum, oils, lubricants, clothing, communication services, medical services, storage services, training services, spare parts and components, repair and maintenance services, calibration services and port services.

By signing such an agreement, India has acquired the formal status of a military ally of the US which will further dilute India’s non aligned status. The Modi government has compromised on Indian sovereignty and surrendered its strategic autonomy by signing such an agreement with the most powerful imperialist country in the world. CEC calls upon the youth of the country and all other progressive sections to come out in strong protest against this draconian agreement.
