Struggles

One day "Shaala Bandh" to be held on 12th December 2014 by Marathi School Teachers on the issue of grant to schools.

DYFI Maharashtra State Committee supports the one day "Shaala Bandh" to be held on 12th December 2014 by Marathi School Teachers on the issue of grant to schools. Previous Govt had decided to give grant to 1350 schools out of around 2500 schools. But Fadnavis Government has started the valuation process. This is an attempt by the State Govt to derail the whole process. It is also a clear indication to the people that no welfare will be provided.

Teachers in all these schools are teaching without salary or negligible salary since 1999.

Education scenario is undergoing a great turmoil in the country in general and Maharashtra in particular. There is no option left with us other than struggle against such unscrupulous implementation of neoliberal polices.

Many communities in the disease zones have inadequate sanitation that allow frequent trash piles and open sewers to serve as mosquito breeding and feeding grounds, according to the final outcome statement from the Aedes aegypti summit last month.
