DYFI 9th National Conference

Garden City of India, Bangalore is getting ready to host the 9th All India conference of the biggest democratic youth movement in the country, DYFI from tommorow onwards. Starting from tommorow 11th September the conference will go till 15th September. All the preperations for the conference is completed. Martyrs Torch-Flag- Flagpole which started its journey from the martyrs lands will converge on Monday in Bangalore.

Flag Jatha led by DYFI Maharashtra State Secretary Com. Preethy Sekhar, which started from the red soil of Koothuparamba, where 5 comrades of DYFI where martyred in Police firing while protesting against the commercialisation of education in 1994 by the then congress ministry, completed its journey in Kerala and entered the Karnataka state. The Jatha was inaugurated by CPIM CC member and Left Front Convenor Com. Vaikom Viswan. The jatha was welcomed in Hosnur, Mysore and Mandya.

Flag pole jatha led by DYFI All india Joint Seccretary Com. Shailendre Kample from chennai was welcomed in Seydarpet, Kanchipuram. The jatha will enter Bangalore through Hosur district. Martyrs torch jatha led by DYFI Chikbellapur District Secretary Com. Srinivas Reddy will also reach Bangalore by Monday Evening. The Torch Jatha will be inaugurated by Com. Sreeram Reddy, State Secretary CPIM. Volunteer March as part of the publicity campaign was held in Bangalore on Sunday. Volunteers shouting the slogans, reached the Townhall, where noted Kannada writer Prof. Chandrashekhar Patil received them. Com. GC Byareddy, Working President of the Reception committee for the DYFI national conference, General Secretary B. Rajashekhar Murthy, Treasurer Lingaraju and others were present.

    Many communities in the disease zones have inadequate sanitation that allow frequent trash piles and open sewers to serve as mosquito breeding and feeding grounds, according to the final outcome statement from the Aedes aegypti summit last month.
